If you’ve followed HR advice from our Telephone Advisory Service and someone later comes at you with a claim, don’t worry, we’ll take care of you. Your insurance policy covers most employment-related claims including unfair dismissal, unlawful termination, bullying, discrimination, alleged underpayment of entitlements, as well as claims in breach of civil remedy provisions. The policy covers up to $2 million in any one year for damages, judgement, settlement, legal costs/expenses, defence costs and investigation costs.
No Excess.
There’s NO excess on the insurance policy and, unlike workers’ compensation insurance, making a claim won’t normally increase the cost of your insurance.
Legal Representation.
If a claim is made against you by an employee, as part of your insurance package you’ll be represented by FCB Workplace Law. FCB Workplace Law is Australia’s leading workplace relations law firm and is, like us, part of FCB Group. FCB Workplace Law only practises in the area of workplace relations and has more Accredited Specialists in this area than any firm in Australia. The firm has been established for over 25 years and is equivalent to (or larger than) the entire workplace relations teams in most top-tier firms. This means that even if your matter becomes litigious it’ll be handled within the FCB Group, not transferred to a third-party legal services provider.
